Hello there!
My name is Alice, Founder of The Virtues Crew - a localised concept in Melbourne, Australia inspired by the global initiative The Virtues Project™. I’m thrilled to share it with you!
A few years ago, I had the privilege of discovering the 5 strategies of the Virtues Project when I participated in a parenting workshop series as a new mum. It opened my eyes to a more meaningful understanding of my parenting journey, and strengthened my resilience as a tired mother during those inevitable hard times. Now, with a second child in tow and the first one in primary school, I have first hand experience of the positive impact the strategies have had (and continue to have) on my life as a parent, as well as on my kids as they grow, learn and find their way in the world.
But it didn’t stop with my family life at home - I have used many of the strategies in other settings such as my workplace and community, and understand the far reaching potential these strategies have to build positive and productive relationships in any space.
Through my professional career as a youth worker, I saw the impact of the COVID pandemic on relationships. Particularly striking were the challenges faced by young people re-integrating into school-life and connecting with their peers offline, teachers trying to manage students in their classrooms once more, and families trying to overcome the exhaustion of navigating post-pandemic life. I could see that the virtues-centred strategies are more relevant than ever to families, schools and society at large. Wanting to combine this with my 15 years experience overseeing countless transformative strengths-based youth programs, I was inspired to start The Virtues Crew.
As a certified trainer of the Virtues Project, I’m incredibly excited to share its strategies with you and build a village of re-connected, empowered, like-minded people across Melbourne!
